Saratoga rain waters down works; only 7 graded winners breeze
Heavy rain sidetracked plans to train dozens of high-profile horses Friday morning at Saratoga, leaving only seven graded-stakes winners to turn in timed workouts around the rest of the country.
Hoosier Philly, whose was forced her out of last month’s Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks because of what was described as a minor foot problem, worked a half-mile in 48.8 seconds on the main track at Churchill Downs. Trainer Tom Amoss is pointing the 3-year-old filly to next Friday’s Charles Town Oaks (G3).
