Saratoga has 5 more turf races moved to main track Sunday
After experiencing another dose of rain, all of Saratoga’s non-stakes turf races were moved off the grass and onto the main track Sunday for the third day in a row.
“Races 2, 4, 6, 7 and 10 are off the turf,” horsemen were told in a New York Racing Association text message Sunday at 8:08 a.m. EDT. “The Quick Call remains on the turf.”

The Grade 3, $175,000 Quick Call Stakes, a 5 1/2-furlong race on the outer course, is the only race now scheduled to be run on the Saratoga turf Sunday.
Only stakes races have gone forward on the grass courses since Friday. Heavy rain fell on Saratoga Springs, N.Y., on Thursday night, Saturday morning and as racing ended Saturday afternoon.
The National Weather Service forecast a partly sunny day Sunday with a high near 86 and south wind 7-9 mph. There is a 50% chance of showers producing less than a tenth of an inch of rain Sunday after 7 p.m. EDT with the potential for more from a passing thunderstorm.
Of the 17 races that were written for the Saratoga turf since Friday, 13 were forced off because of the soft condition of the grass. The only card that had all the turf races left intact was Thursday, the opener of the 40-day summer meet which runs through Sept. 1.
