The New York Racing Association announced Friday that the 14-day quarantine of barn 85 at Saratoga has been lifted by the New York State Department of Agriculture.

As a result, all horses stabled in barn 85 are once again permitted to enter races and train with the general horse population. During the quarantine, asymptomatic horses were allowed to train on the Oklahoma training track during isolated hours, after general training finished for the day.

Barn 85, which contains horses trained by Jeremiah Englehart and Jorge Abreu, was placed under a precautionary quarantine on May 30 following the identification of a case of strangles within that barn. Tranquil Sea, trained by Englehart, returned a positive test for strangles on May 30 after developing breathing issues. The unraced 2-year-old colt by Galilean began treatment immediately at a private farm where he remains.

No additional positive cases of strangles were identified during the quarantine period.
