Santa Anita’s 16-day autumn meet begins Sept. 26 with a new wager, the $1 Sunset Pick 6.

The Sunset Pick Six will comprise the final three races from both Santa Anita and Gulfstream Park on days that the pair are running. Available to retail customers only, no computer-assisted-wagering players, the Sunset Pick 6 features a 15% takeout and will not have a consolation payout.

The net pool will be distributed entirely to winning ticket holders, or if no one successfully selects all six winners, carried over to the next racing day.

The Sunset Pick Six is part of a comprehensive wagering menu available to horseplayers during the Santa Anita autumn meet, which closes Oct. 26. Back again is the traditional $2 Pick 6 offered on the last six races each race day. It will continue to pay out 70% of the total pool to tickets that have all six winners with the remaining 30% going to consolation payouts. If there are no tickets with six winners, 70% of the pool will then carry over to the next race day with the remainder paid out in consolations.

Santa Anita again will offer a $5 late daily double, $3 late Pick 3 and $3 all-turf Pick 3, each of which has a 15% takeout rate. The late daily double covers the final two races on each day’s card, the late Pick 3 includes the final three races of the day and the all-turf Pick 3 consists of the final three turf races on the program.

Santa Anita also will continue to offer rolling $2 daily doubles and $1 Pick 3’s throughout each day’s program.

Big pools again will be the norm in the 50-cent early Pick 5 and 50-cent late Pick 5. The 50-cent early Pick 5, which features a 14% takeout, saw an average pool size of $340,000 during the Hollywood Meet. The 50-cent late Pick 5 attracted an average pool size above $580,000.

Also returning is the $1 coast-to-coast Pick 5, which has a 15% takeout rate and is available to retail customers only. The coast-to-coast Pick 5 combines races from Santa Anita and Gulfstream Park on days that both tracks are running.

A $1 Super High 5 again will be offered on the final race of each day’s card. The Super High 5 requires players to select the first five finishers in exact order. If there are no perfect tickets, 100% of the pool carries over to the following day’s Super High 5.

The autumn meet also will offer 10-cent superfectas on all races with a minimum of six entrants, a $1 trifecta on races with a minimum of four runners and a $1 exacta on every race. Additionally, each day’s card will offer a 50-cent early Pick 4 and 50-cent late Pick 4. On cards with more than 10 races, a 50-cent middle Pick 4 also will be offered.
