Santa Anita rolls out updated wagering menu ahead of Autumn Meet

With the beginning of its 22-day Autumn Meet on Friday, Sept. 28, Santa Anita Park will offer players a comprehensive wagering menu that will include a pair of new items: the 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six each day and The Stronach Five, a 12 percent takeout wager with a 50 cent minimum, each Friday.

In addition to these new items, Santa Anita will again offer the popular 50-cent Early Pick Five, with a 14 percent takeout, and the 50-cent Late Pick Five.

The Stronach Five will offer fans a fast-moving quintet of races from four Stronach Group properties, Gulfstream Park, Laurel Park, Santa Anita and Golden Gate Fields.

The 20 cent Rainbow Pick Six, which has proven tremendously successful at Gulfstream, is paid on a daily basis to those tickets with the highest number of winning horses. Thirty percent of the pool is then carried over to a jackpot pool, less takeout. This could well create the possibility of a massive jackpot pool leading into a mandatory payout on closing day, Sunday, Nov. 4.

The prospect of a life-changing score will be in effect immediately, as Santa Anita will guarantee a pair of one-day only Rainbow Pick Six jackpot pools, a $250,000 pool on opening day, Sept. 28 and a $1 million jackpot pool on Saturday, Sept. 29.

One-dollar rolling Super High Five wagers will also be offered again on all races with a minimum of eight horses and Santa Anita will continue to offer the nation’s lowest major track takeout of 15.43 percent on win, place and show wagers.

The track will also continue to offer one-dollar exactas, two-dollar rolling Daily Doubles, one-dollar rolling Pick 3s, an early and late 50 cent Pick 4, as well as 10-cent Superfectas on all races with a minimum of six runners.
