Due to heavy rain forecast early this week, Santa Anita has canceled Thursday’s races and will resume live action Friday at 12:30 p.m. when there is free general admission and parking.

The three turf stakes slated for Thursday have been moved to the weekend, when the forecast is for drier weather. The Robert J. Frankel (G3) will be run Saturday. The Eddie Logan and Blue Norther, both turf stakes for 2-year-olds, will be held Sunday.

Rainy weather last week forced six turf races carded on opening day Sunday to be moved to the main track. Five races Monday got the green light to stay on the grass.

With inclement weather imminent, there were 269 recorded workouts Monday, 42 on the training track.
