Saturday Santa Anita Park Recap: March 11

Fast main track and firm turf course. Three wire-to-wire winners on dirt (6f, 8.5f, 6f). The winning turf course running styles were an downhill stalker from the outside post (rail at 30 feet),  a late runner at one mile, a stalker from the inside post at one mile, and another stalker at a flat mile (rail at 0 feet last 3 turf races).

Tyler Baze, Javier Castellano, and Mike Smith each booted home a pair. Jerry Hollendorfer and Richard Mandella both saddled two winners.

Saturday’s (3-11-17) suggested Daily Double + Early Pick 3 Tickets from Santa Anita Park yielded two Secondary winners (Classic Ruler, Dr. Troutman). I needed Primary player Ain’t Misbehavin in the third race to hit the Daily Double (Races 2-3) and Early Pick 3 (Races 1-3) but the stretch runner’s rally fell a 1/2 length short.
