Santa Anita: Franco wins first California race

Apprentice jockey Geovanni Franco won his first race at Santa Anita in Friday's fourth race aboard Sidepocket Lou ($8.40). Franco, 19, moved to Southern California last month, having previously ridden at Hastings Park in British Columbia. Race favorite A Royal Tizzy, who finished fourth at 6-5, was claimed in a four-way shake for $8,000 by Robertino Diodoro.
