Sadler names Saez on Selcourt, points Catalina Cruiser to Sprint
Breaking Breeders’ Cup news from the John Sadler barn on a glorious Sunday morning at Santa Anita: Luis Saez has been named to ride Selcourt in the $1 million Filly & Mare Sprint at seven furlongs and Catalina Cruiser has been confirmed to run in the $2 million Sprint as opposed to the $1 million Dirt Mile, both races on Nov. 2.
Sadler supervised the penultimate Breeders’ Cup workouts yesterday for Higher Power ($6 million Classic), Ollie’s Candy ($2 million Distaff), Catalina Cruiser and Selcourt.
“All of them went super,” Sadler said this morning. “The whole group is very consistent.”
Sadler seeks his second straight win in the Classic. He won it last year with Accelerate.
