The early rain that fell at Royal Ascot on Thursday did not dampen the excitement the meeting has provided thus far.

Stradivarius made it back-to-back-to-back Gold Cups and Jim Crowley kept on winning races.

Check out the storylines, stretch replays and U.S. pool payouts for Thursday's Royal Ascot action. All times Eastern:

Race 1: Golden Gates Handicap (8:15 a.m.)

It was a 10 furlong affair for 3-year-olds, but the last 100 yards provided the most interesting moments of the race, as Highland Chief came from the pack late to burst to the lead and hang on under jockey Rossa Ryan. At 24-1, the first winner of the day paid out handsomely. Tritonic and Global Storm relied on late moves to take home minor awards in the Golden Gates Handicap. Highland Chief is owned by Mrs. Fitri Hay and trained by Paul F.I. Cole.

Highland Chief: $50.10 / $15.00

Tritonic: $8.40

Global Storm: $3.30

$1 Exacta (1-5): $169.00

$1 Trifecta (1-5-8): $1,998.30

Race 2:
Wolferton Stakes (8:50 a.m.)

James Doyle rode another Royal Ascot winner in Mountain Angel, taking the Wolferton Stakes for trainer Roger Varian. Doyle got to the rail in the latter stages of the race while the Dark Angel gelding pulled away in the final furlong, besting Sir Dragonet and Regal Reality.

Mountain Angel: $15.40 / $5.00

Sir Dragonet: $3.20

Regal Reality: $3.90

$1 Exacta (10-13): $25.50

$1 Trifecta (10-13-12): $211.80

Race 3: Jersey Stakes (9:25 a.m.)

It was a photo finish in the seven furlong sprint on the straight Royal Ascot course, and when it was all said and done, Molatham was victorious under Jim Crowley, who notched his fifth win on the meeting. Varian claimed his second Royal Ascot winner of the day. Monarch of Egypt was on the wrong side of the photo, while Sybolize stayed up to finish third.

Molatham: $13.90 / $4.90

Monarch of Egypt: $4.60

Symbolize: $25.40

$1 Exacta (8-9): $29.60

$1 Trifecta (8-9-13): $964.70

Race 4: Chesham Stakes (10 a.m.)

Jockey Ryan Moore and trainer Aidan O'Brien hooked up for another jockey/trainer winning combination when Battleground won the Chesham, for two-year-olds going seven furlongs. The snazzy War Front colt breaks his maiden in the listed stakes. Longshots March Law and Seattle Rock filled out the trifecta, which paid $560.70 for a one dollar bet in U.S. markets.

Battleground: $5.40 / $3.00

March Law: $8.90

Seattle Rock: $17.40

$1 Exacta (1-6): $38.70

$1 Trifecta (1-6-9): $560.70

Race 5: Gold Cup (10:35 a.m.)

The Gold Cup was all about Stradivarius as he came into the race having won the last two editions of this Group 1 affair. He did not disappoint, as he put in the best singular performance of the meeting through the first three days. With Frankie Dettori once again in the saddle for trainer John Gosden, Stradivarius drew clear, finishing the 2 1/2 mile route looking like a sprinter as he distanced himself from the competition to win by open lengths.

Stradivarius: $3.00 / $2.40

Nayef Road: $5.00

Cross Counter: $4.20

$1 Exacta (4-7): $8.30

$1 Trifecta (4-7-1): $31.80

Race 6: Britannia Handicap (11:10 a.m.)

Crowley registered his sixth win in the first three days of the Royal Ascot meeting, bringing Khaloosy home first in the Britannia. Varian won for the third time on the day. The jockey/trainer/owner combination have been the story of Royal Ascot thus far. Finer Sound was a clear second-best, while Cherokee Trail battled hard late to get up for third.

Khaloosy: $14.50 / $5.60

Finest Sound: $3.20

Cherokee Trail: $13.80

$1 Exacta (6-22): $27.00

$1 Trifecta (6-22-3): $478.40

Race 7: Sandringham Handicap (11:40 a.m.)

The day ended much like it started, with a longshot winner in Onassis. Last year, jockey Hayley Turner ended a 32-year drought of female jockeys winning at Royal Ascot when she rode trainer Charlie Fellowes' lonshot Thanks Be to victory in the Sandringham Handicap. The duo hooked up to win again this year as Onassis came from far back to beat the large field to the wire. Waliyak and Dubai Love completed the trifecta which paid $2,381.30.

Onassis: $53.80 / $17.30

Waliyak: $4.10

Dubai Love: $6.10

$1 Exacta (14-11): $182.60

$1 Trifecta (14-11-1): $2,381.30
