Friday at Royal Ascot continued the trend of large, competitive fields and exciting finishes. But unlike earlier days this week, there weren't many longshot winners.

But then ...

Take a look at Friday action from Royal Ascot, including recaps, stretch replays and results from U.S. betting pools. All times Eastern:

Race 1: Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap (8:15 a.m.)

The first race of the day gave us an even-money favorite as Art Power, ridden by Silvestre de Sousa, got to the wire ahead of Keep Busy and Dancin Inthestreet. The five-furlong handicap was won handily by the gray Dark Angel colt, proving he deserved favoritism.

Art Power: $4.20/ $2.60
Keep Busy: $5.80
Dancin Inthestreet: $7.40

$1 Exacta (7-9): $11.90
$1 Trifecta (7-9-22): $76.10

Race 2: Albany Stakes (8:50 a.m.)

Dandalla, with jockey Ben Curtis up for trainer Karl Burke, separated herself from the other dozen 2-year-old fillies with about two furlongs to go in the Albany on her way to the winner's enclosure. The Roger Varian-trained post-time favorite Setarhe and Aidan O'Brien's Mother Earth were good enough for minor awards in the six-furlong sprint.

Dandalla: $19.00/ $5.60
Setarhe: $3.20
Mother Earth: $3.00

$1 Exacta (3-10): $37.00
$1 Trifecta (3-10-9): $156.10

Race 3: Norfolk Stakes (9:25 a.m.)

It was a five-furlong sprint and the Lir Jet only enjoyed the lead for only the final 10 yards or so, as Oisin Murphy piloted another 2020 Royal Ascot winner, this time for trainer Michael Bell. Golden Pal was nipped at the shadow of the wire for a tough-luck second. Imperial Force was able to stay up for third. This was one of the more exciting finishes of the day.

The Lir Jet: $14.40/ $4.00
Golden Pal: $5.80
Imperial Force: $4.60

$1 Exacta (13-6): $37.90
$1 Trifecta (16-6-7): $355.70

Race 4: Hardwicke Stakes (10 a.m.)

Frankie Dettori notches yet another Royal Ascot victory and performs his flying dismount in front of an empty grandstand. Fanny Logan looked like she was shot out of a cannon in the late stages of the Hardwicke, giving leading trainer John Gosden another Royal Ascot winner in the Sea the Stars filly.

Fanny Logan: $17.40/ $4.20
Alounak: $15.40
Defoe: $3.60

$1 Exacta (11-1): $194.90
$1 Trifecta (11-1-4): $1,048.50

Race 5: Commonwealth Cup (10:35 a.m.)

Wesley Ward's Kimari had to settle for second, as she was unable to corral Clive Cox's Golden Horde in the six-furlong Commonwealth Cup. Jockey Adam Kirby was aboard the winner at 5-1 on the U.S. odds board, while post-time favorite Pierre Lapin failed to hit the board. There was a hefty trifecta in this race as longshot Ventura Rebel finished third.

Golden Horde: $14.00/ $4.20
Kimari: $4.20
Ventura Rebel: $31.80

$1 Exacta (3-14): $30.90
$1 Trifecta (3-14-12): $1,476.90

Race 6: Queen’s Vase (11:10 a.m.)

The Ryan Moore/Aidan O'Brien jockey/trainer combo win another Royal Ascot race when Santiago used a blistering final furlong to put away the field in the Queen's Vase. The race ended up being quite formful, as the mutuel payouts indicate.

Santiago: $9.60/ $3.40
Berkshire Rocco: $2.60
Al Dabaran: $3.80

$1 Exacta (8-2): $15.10
$1 Trifecta (8-2-1): $65.70

Race 7: Duke of Edinburgh Handicap
(11:40 a.m.)

Finally, in the finale of Friday's Royal Ascot action, a longshot wins the race when Hollie Doyle picked up her first career victory in England's premier meeting. Following in the footsteps of Hayley Turner who won the last race on Thursday, Doyle brought home longshot Scarlet Dragon at 50-1 odds for trainer Alan King. Deja finished second, followed by West End Charmer, while the $1 trifecta paid a cool $3,703.90.

Scarlet Dragon: $102.80 / $19.80
Deja: $6.30
West End Charmer: $3.80

$1 Exacta (17-10): $440.50
$1 Trifecta (17-10-3): $3,703.90
