Ron Turcotte to Remington

When the movie Secretariat opens in theatres on Oct. 8, Ron Turcotte, who rode the legendary Triple Crown winner, will be in Oklahoma City, at Remington Park. In fact, both Ron Turcottes will be there. Otto Thorwarth, the ex-jockey who plays Turcotte in the film, will be there Oct. 5 for a special screening. It's all part of the festivities leading up to the $400,000 Oklahoma Derby on Oct. 10. Hall of Fame jockey Chris McCarron will participate as well, speaking at a fund-raiser for the Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. On derby day,Turcotte, the real one, as Remington's guest of honor, will sign autographs and present the winner's trophy.
