SINGAPORE sprint star Rocket Man (Patrick Shaw/Felix Coetzee) finally achieved a coveted international Group 1 triumph when he stormed to victory in the Golden Shaheen.
Although the powerful five-year-old had to dig deep to catch front-running Euroears, he won decisively in the end by two and a quarter lengths. The Hong Kong pair Sunny King and Green Birdie closed from miles off the pace to take third and fourth.
The winner's task was eased when Kinsale King, who had beaten him into second in last year's race, was ruled out with a swelling on his off-fore leg.
