Roadster, Mucho Gusto continue to work toward comebacks

Bob Baffert's pair of Grade 1 winners, Roadster and Mucho Gusto, are nearing return races after almost a year on the shelf.

2019 Santa Anita Derby (G1) winner Roadster, who has not run since March, worked a swift four furlongs in a bullet time of 46.00 at Santa Anita Park on Wednesday morning.

Pegasus World Cup (G1) winner Mucho Gusto, off since February, also drilled a bullet, going five furlongs in 59.00. One or both of the Baffert runners could return in the San Antonio (G2) at Santa Anita Park on Dec. 26.

Henley's Joy (Kitten's Joy) a Grade 1 winner (2019 Belmont Derby Invitational) worked 5 furlongs in 1:01.6 at Fair Grounds on Wednesday morning. It was the 17th fastest of 34 works at the distance. His previous work was 7 days ago going 5 furlongs at Fair Grounds. In his last start he placed 10th in the Elkhorn (G2) going 1 1/2 miles on the turf at Keeneland on July 12 for trainer Steve Asmussen. 

Sally's Curlin (Curlin) a two time Grade 3 winner (2020 Hurricane Bertie, 2019 Chilukki) worked 4 furlongs in 50.2 at Gulfstream Park on Wednesday morning. It was the 14th fastest of 21 works at the distance. This is her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed seventh in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint going 7 furlongs on the main track at Keeneland on Nov. 7 for trainer Dale Romans.

Cool Arrow (Into Mischief) a Grade 3 winner (2020 Smile Sprint) worked 5 furlongs in 1:00.1 at Gulfstream Park on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of 8 works at the distance. His previous work was 10 days ago going 5 furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he placed fourth in an allowance race going 6 furlongs on the main track at Keeneland on Oct. 16 for trainer Teresa M. Pompay.

Green Light Go (Hard Spun) a Grade 2 winner (2019 Saratoga Special) worked 4 furlongs in 49.6 at Keeneland on Wednesday morning. It was the third fastest of 15 works at the distance. His previous work was 18 days ago going 5 furlongs at Woodbine. In his last start he placed second in the Roar going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park on May 16 for trainer James Jerkens.

Social Paranoia (Street Boss) a two time Grade 3 winner (2020 Poker 2020 Appleton) worked 5 furlongs in 1:01.4 at Palm Beach Downs on Wednesday morning. It was the fastest of four works at the distance. His previous work was 7 days ago going 5 furlongs at Palm Beach Downs. In his last start he won the Poker (G3) going 1 mile on the turf at Belmont Park on July 4 for trainer Todd Pletcher.

Diamond Oops (Lookin At Lucky) a two time Grade 2 winner (2020 Phoenix 2020 Twin Spires Turf Sprint) worked 5 furlongs in 1:00.0 on turf at Palm Meadows Training Center on Wednesday morning.
