The Maryland Racing Commission stewards suspended apprentice Trevor McCarthy three live racing days for an infraction aboard Kid Terrapin in the 10th race February 17.

The 19-year-old missed today’s card and will also not be allowed to ride tomorrow or Friday. He will return Saturday afternoon and was named on seven mounts when the racing office took entries for that card this afternoon.

McCarthy leads the jockey standings with 32 victories, six more than Victor Carrasco. He had 11 multiple-win days during the first 22 live racing days of the year.

MAGEE, McMAHON BATTLING FOR TOP SPOT IN TRAINER STANDINGS

Kieron Magee moved back into a tie atop the Laurel Park trainer standings when Puget Sound ($17.20) won today’s fifth race. Magee and Hugh McMahon have each saddled 12 winners at the central Maryland track during the winter meeting, which ends March 29.

Juan Vazquez and Claudio Gonzalez are within in striking distance of Magee and McMahon. Each conditioner has 10 victories.

DO SOMETHIN WINS FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS YEAR

Do Somethin won for the third time this year beating six rivals, including multiple stakes winner Red’s Round Table in today’s sixth race, a $50,000 allowance test for fillies and mares at 5-½ furlongs.

The daughter of Purim and jockey Yomar Ortiz won by 3 1/2 lengths and stopped the clock in 1:05.08. The Tony Wilson trainee paid $3.40. She previously earned allowance victories here January 16 and 29.

The 5-year-old is now 10-of-19 lifetime with 15 in the money finishes for earnings of nearly $280,000.
