9:38: The Heiligbrodt dispersal, Phase I, closes the auction day with 73 horses sold for $2,949,500, resulting in a $40,404 average and a $29,000 median. The dispersal’s last lot, stallion Bwana Charlie, was a scratch. in addition to $240,000 topper Richbabe, the dispersal sold three other six-figure horses. They were Driscoll, who brought $105,000 from James L. Stone; $100,000 Spoils, who sold to Fleetwood Bloodstock; and $100,000 Sax Appeal, who went to Jonathan Thorne.
