Report: West Will Power will stand at farm in South Korea

West Will Power, who was retired in August, will stand at stud on a farm in South Korea.

Thoroughbred Daily News reported that the 6-year-old son of Bernardini was sold to Songma Farm in South Korea.

West Will Power was trained by Brad Cox and was homebred by Gary and Mary West. He was found to have a soft-tissue injury after his only Grade 1 win, in the Stephen Foster at Ellis Park on July 1.

Ben Glass, the stable manager for the Wests, told TDN he was unable to find a U.S. stallion farm to take West Will Power, probable because of his age.

The Wests have sent other horses to Korea, according to the report, including 2021 Rebel (G2) winner Concert Tour.

West Will Power had a career record of 17: 7-7-1 and earnings of $1,745,390.

His other graded-stakes wins came in the 2022 Fayette (G2) and the 2023 New Orleans (G2).
