Wesley Ward and owner-breeder Ken Ramsey have settled the lawsuit filed by the trainer over unpaid fees.

BloodHorse reported that terms of the settlement are confidential.

Ward sought about $975,000 in unpaid fees and interest for boarding, maintenance and training of Ramsey's horses, according to the report.

In a joint statement from the parties in the lawsuit, Ramsey said, "Wesley Ward is one of the premier trainers in the country. I was fortunate to have worked with him for so many years," according to the report. "I can say with 100 percent certainty that I do not in any way question his training of my horses and our settlement reflects that fact. I am a man of my word and Wesley has been made whole for his training services."

The case had been scheduled to go to trial in Jessamine Circuit Court in Nicholasville, Ky., on Feb. 19, according to the report.

"I have the utmost respect for Ken Ramsey having worked with him for over a decade," Ward said in the statement. "He is an icon in the Thoroughbred business. I am glad we could put this misunderstanding behind us and I look forward to many more years of mutual respect and friendship."
