Fresh off his win in the Ellis Park Derby (G3), Super Stock will make his next start in the Grade 3 Oklahoma Derby at Remington Park, the Daily Racing Form reported.

It was the first win for the Steve Asmussen colt since the Louisiana Derby (G2). In between he finished 16th in the Kentucky Derby and fourth in both the Texas Derby and Iowa Derby. Overall he has a record of 12:3-2-2.

After Super Stock's Ellis Park win with regular rider Ricardo Santana Jr. aboard, Asmussen said, “The Lone Star race, the racetrack was absolute sea of water, drawn 13, just was never in the right spot,” he said of the Texas Derby. “And I did not like his trip in Iowa at all, and that was the change in tactics.”

The new plan, he said, was “to ride him like he did in the Arkansas Derby.”
