Santa Anita stewards asked trainer Tim Yakteen to physically move the horses transferred to his care from Bob Baffert to his stable.

Daily Racing Form reported that the eight horses had remained near the Baffert stable after the transfer, which occurred because Baffert's suspension by Churchill Downs Inc. means his runners are ineligible to compete in the Kentucky Derby or earn qualifying reports.

The horses transferred were Arabian Lion, Arabian Knight, Carmel Road, Fort Bragg, Hejazi, Mr Fisk, National Treasure and Reincarnate.

DRF reported that Yakteen said last week that the horses had been transferred to his stable.

But the horses instead were moved to another part of the barn where Baffert runners are stabled, with stall identification changed to Yakteen from Baffert, according to the report.

BloodHorse reported that the horses were not moved immediately because there was no room in Yakteen's stable, which is at the opposite end from Baffert's at Santa Anita.

One steward told DRF the request was made in the interest of transparency and that Yakteen said the horses would be moved by Monday. But the trainer told DRF on Sunday that no decisions had been made.
