Report: Señor Buscador will stand stud at Lane's End

Señor Buscador, winner of the Grade 1 Saudi Cup in 2024, will stand at Lane's End Farm in 2025.

Señor Buscador was retired after a breeze Sunday morning, a breeze that had been expected to be his last before running in the Pegasus World Cup. He was retired after his connections were not happy with how he worked. His move to Lane's End, where he will stand for $7,500 live foal stand-and-nurse, was reported by Thoroughbred Daily News.

A 7-year-old son of Mineshaft, who also stands at Lane's End, Señor Buscador was a promising juvenile but made his mark as an older horse. He won his debut and the Remington Springboard Mile as a juvenile, but after a fifth-place finish behind Mandaloun in the 2021 Risen Star (G2) he did not race again for over a year. However, after a return win at Lone Star in July 2022, he never raced in anything but stakes company again.

His victory in the 2024 Saudi Cup was his only at the graded level, but he won two other graded-stakes races and placed in five more, including finishing a close second behind champion older dirt horse National Treasure in the 2024 Pegasus World Cup. Señor Buscador retired with a 23: 7-2-3 career record and $12,944,427 in career earnings.
