Three-time graded stakes winner It Tiz Well may have run her last race, the Daily Racing Form reports, as connections consider retiring the 4-year-old daughter of Arch following discovery of a bone chip in her ankle.

Owner Tom Stull told DRF that the filly “has a few issues,” with this latest setback after It Tiz Well missed the Breeders’ Cup Distaff due to a foot problem.

In her last start, the Jerry Hollendorfer trainee captured the Grade 1 Cotillion. She also won the Grade 3 Honeybee and Delaware Oaks. In 10 career starts, It Tiz Well has finished out of the money just once.

Now connections are looking at an early retirement and breeding season to leading sire Tapit.

“It’s part of the business,” Stull told DRF. “She was getting better and better.”

It Tiz Well most recently worked out Dec. 30, moving six furlongs at Santa Anita Park. Before that, her previous four drills were all bullets.

“We’ll see if she races again,” Stull said. “She might have to be a broodmare. We’ll get a couple more evaluations.”
