Replacement jockeys will ride at Remington Park

As a boycott by the Jockeys' Guild at Remington Park continues, replacement riders have accepted mounts for the Thursday night card.

Five races were named on horse on the nine-race card, according to the report, with fields of two to five horses. More than half of the horses entered were scratched.

Representatives of the Guild and Remington Park trainers and owners continued to negotiate Wednesday, according to a Daily Racing Form report. Late in the day, a representative for the Thoroughbred Racing Associiton of Oklahoma said they had reached an agreement.

But Terry Meyocks, CEO of the Jockeys' Guild, told DRF the deal had not been completed and that riders would not accept mounts at Remington Park until the TRAO board approves the agreement and the Oklahoma Racing Commission ratifies it. That could happen Thursday, according to the report.

If the agreement is approved, Thursday and Friday cards would proceed with horses that were not scratched. Riders for Saturday have not been required to be named.
