Pizza Bianca has returned to trainer Christophe Clement and will continue training this year, Daily Racing Form reported.

The 4-year-old filly, who was 1-for-6 last year, had been trained by Graham Motion for the Matriarch (G1) on Dec. 4, where she finished third, and the American Oaks (G1) last Monday, finishing sixth.

"It was not a very lucky trip" for Pizza Bianca in the American Oaks, Clement told DRF. The race was won by Rhea Moon.

According to the Equibase chart, Pizza Bianca "steered inward while trailing early, saved ground to the stretch, altered out in upper stretch, altered out twice more from behind a rival and kept on to improve position."

Clement told DRF that Pizza Bianca will get a break in Florida this winter. "“There is no reason she won’t have a good 4-year-old year.”

Pizza Bianca's best win came in the 2021 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies and was the first Breeders' Cup victory for Clement. She also won the black-type Hilltop Stakes at Pimlico in May.
