Report: Trainer suspended in multiple states for animal cruelty
Trainer Amber Cobb has received a two-month suspension from the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission, Paulick Report reported Friday.
Cobb was previously suspended in May for two years by Delaware Park stewards for cruelty to a horse in her care. The Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission reduced that suspension last week to 60 days and required the trainer to attend anger management classes.
Pennsylvania’s separate suspension is based on the same evidence presented to Delaware officials and will run through Sept. 20, Paulick Report reported.
A copy of the Pennsylvania commission’s ruling against Cobb was not available Friday afternoon on its online database. A voicemail left to the commission’s office also was not returned.
Cobb last started a runner July 21 at Delaware Park. She has saddled 872 starters since 2013, totaling 83 wins and $1.35 million in earnings.
