The field for Satuday's Grade 3 Lecomte at Fair Grounds is becoming more compact.

Marcus Hersch of Daily Racing Form said in an X post Wednesday that trainer Keith Desormeaux will scratch Next Level from the stakes, which offers 20-10-6-4-2 Kentucky Derby qualifying points to the top five finishers. Next Level, who was 30-1 on the morning line, has a record of 6: 1-1-1 and finished seventh in the Gun Runner in his last start.

Deormeaux's other entry, Tizzy Indy, also 30-1, might be scratched as well, Hersch reported. He is a maiden winner who would make his first stakes start in the Lecomte.

In a post on Tuesday, Hersch said Brad Cox will scratch Awesome Road from the race. He was listed at 8-1 on the morning line. After breaking his maiden in August, Awesome Road was seventh in the Breeders' Futurity (G1) and fifth last out in the Kentucky Jockey Club (G2).

Cox also entered Nash, at 5-2, and Ethan Energy, 4-1, in the Lecomte.
