The New York Racing Association is considering options to increase TV coverage as FanDuelTV begins to wind down its operations.

Tony Allevato, NYRA’s chief revenue officer and a former producer at TVG, told Paulick Report that NYRA will look to expand existing coverage of premier tracks on its existing programming through its longstanding partnership with Fox. NYRA also is considering creating a free broadcast service similar to the “NFL RedZone” show according to the report.

NYRA already produces America’s Day at the Races and Saratoga Live and has a 10-year partnership with Fox. Allevato told Paulick Report that this gives NYRA a path to scale up existing coverage through new relationships with premier tracks.

“We have a great partner in Fox, and they’ve always wanted to do more with horse racing,” Allevato said. “The immediate goal would be to look at what content is out there that’s going to be available, so that we could hopefully get to work with these racetracks and their partners to come over to FOX to get more racing on television at a high level.”
