Bob Baffert could send Muth to Saratoga for the Grade 1 Travers and keep Parenting in California for the Pacific Classic (G1).

The Hall of Fame trainer told Daily Racing Form he plans to nominate both to the Aug. 24 Travers but that he wasn't sure how well Parenting would ship.

His decision will depend on how well Muth works in the next few weeks, according to the report.

Muth is 2-for-2 this year, with wins in the Arkansas Derby (G1) and the San Vicente (G2). Last year, the Good Magic colt had two wins and two seconds, winning the American Pharoah (G1) and runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

Parenting, a son of Justify, beat a field of 11 in his April 26 debut and is 2-for-2 since.

“Parenting has never shipped. I don’t know how he would handle it; he’s still young and immature,” Baffert told DRF. “If we were (deciding) today, he’d more Pacific Classic. And Muth, he could up show up at the Travers.”
