After winning last month's Awesome Again Stakes (G1) with Mongolian Groom, owner Ganbaatar Dagvadorj has decided to pay the $200,000 to nominate his horse to the Breeders’ Cup Classic, the Daily Racing Form's Jay Privman reported Tuesday.

The 4-year old gelding by Hightail has a "Win and You're In" victory that provides free entry to the Nov. 2 race at Santa Anita, but that's contingent on a nomination, which wasn't originally sought for a $12,000 purchase as a juvenile.

The fee is due by Oct. 21. Pre-entries for the Breeders' Cup will be announced Oct. 23.

Would-be partners offered to pay the nomination cost.

"But they wanted to go 50-50 (on purse money), and the owner doesn’t want that,” trainer Enebish Ganbat told Privman.

Mongolian Groom continues to stable at Santa Anita, site of his biggest career victory in front-running fashion over McKinzie, expected to be the Breeders' Cup Classic favorite.

Mongolian Groom has made the majority of his starts at Santa Anita, where in his other starts this season his highlights include an allowance win and third in the Santa Anita Handicap (G1).
