Report: Mishriff to receive break, will not run in the Breeders' Cup
Mishriff, a three-time Group 1 winner this year for trainer John Gosden, will not be coming to the U.S. to compete in the Breeders' Cup Turf at Del Mar, Daily Racing Form reported Thursday.
Gosden said Mishriff, who was the 4-1 second choice in overseas futures markets for the Turf, will instead be given a break before beginning preparations for a 5-year-old campaign.

An Irish-bred colt by Make Believe, Mishriff racked up $14,120,049 in earnings this year for owner Prince A.A. Faisal with victories coming in the rich Saudi Cup (G1) on dirt, and both the Dubai Sheema Classic (G1) and the Juddmonte International (G1) on turf. In his most recent start, Mishriff was fourth as the favorite in last weekend's Champions Stakes (G1) at Ascot on British Champions day.
The current favorite for this year's Breeders' Cup Turf is last year's winner Tarnawa for trainer Dermot Weld, who is trading at 2-1 in offshore markets.
Pre-entries for the Breeders' Cup Turf and all other Breeders' Cup races will be accepted through Oct. 25.
