Trainer Mike Maker filed for summary judgment in his case against owner-breeders Ken and Sarah Ramsey, Paulick Report reported Thursday.

Maker sued the Ramseys in March, alleging the couple owed him more than $900,000 in training bills. The Ramseys made payments to Maker toward that debt in March, April, and May, but the trainer says those payments have stopped.

In his filing Thursday, Maker says the Ramseys owe him $505,385.92, not including attorneys’ fees. The motion also states he has no more of the Ramseys’ horses in his stable.

Ken and Sarah Ramsey were honored as Eclipse Award winners for outstanding owner in 2004, ’11, ’13, and ’14, and outstanding breeder in both 2013 and '14. Their runners have won 2,223 races and earned $98.02 million since 2000.

So far during 2021, the Ramseys have seen 11 winners out of 61 starters. Trainer Wesley Ward’s Chasing Artie has been their top earner this season, collecting $145,350 and winning a pair of stakes races.
