Loggins, last seen finishing second in the Breeders' Futurity (G1), is no longer on the road to Kentucky Derby 2023.

Trainer Brad Cox told Thoroughbred Daily News that the colt is "in light training."

He said it's too late in the season to bring Loggins to Fair Grounds and that "we will get more serious with him when we get back to Kentucky."

The Ghostzapper colt broke his maiden in his first start with an 8 1/2-length win at Churchill Downs in September.

He then was second by a neck to 2-year-old champion Forte in the Breeders' Futurity the next month, and he hasn't had a published work since.

Cox has plenty of other options for the Derby. Angel of Empire is atop the leaderboard after winning Saturday's Risen Star (G2), and Instant Coffee is in third place after winning the Lecomte (G3). Also in the top 10 is Hit Show, winner of the Withers (G3).

He entered Verifying and Giant Mischief for Saturday's Rebel (G2), which offers 50-20-15-10-5 Derby qualifying points.
