Secretariat’s last known living daughter, Trusted Company, died at age 34.

The news was posted on author and researcher Patricia McQueen’s Facebook page and reported earlier by the Louisville Courier-Journal.

McQueen said Trusted Company, out of Star Snoop, had lived at Bright Futures Farm in Pennsylvania for the last 4 1/2 years.

Secretariat, winner of the 1973 Triple Crown and two-time horse of the year, sired more than 660 horses between 1975 and 1990, according to the Courier-Journal report.

Trusted Company raced once, finishing 10th of 12 in a 1993 maiden special weight at what was Birmingham Turf Club at the time. She then became a broodmare, according to the report, giving birth to nine foals.

Secretariat’s lone known survivor is Maritime Traveler, who lives in Florida, according to the report. McQueen wrote about Maritime Traveler in this report at Thoroughbred Racing Commentary. He raced five times in 1993 without a win and worked as a teaser at Bridlewood Farm in Florida before being retired four or five years ago, McQueen wrote.
