Report: Kent Desormeaux is arrested for domestic abuse

Jockey Kent Desormueaux was in police custody in Louisiana Friday after being arrested for domestic abuse battery/strangulation, according to a Facebook post by the Beaux Bridge Police Department.

The arrest was reported earlier by Mike Welsch of the Daily Racing Form.

According to the St. Martin Parish Jail website, Desormeaux bonded out.

Desormeaux was slated to ride Stilleto Boy in Saturday's Pegasus World Cup (G1) at Gulfstream. He also has mounts on Niceno in the La Prevoyante (G3) and Kate's Kingdom in an allowance. On Sunday, he has two mounts Sunday at Santa Anita, including on Say the Word in the San Marcos (G2).

According to a social media post from Welsch, Jose Ortiz will take the ride on Stilleto Boy.
