Irad Ortiz Jr. will stick with Renegade in Kentucky Derby 2026 after riding him to wins in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby and the Sam F. Davis Stakes, Daily Racing Form reported.

Ortiz also had winning rides with Kentucky Derby contenders Further Ado in the Blue Grass (G1), Commandment on the Fountain of Youth (G2) and Fulleffort in the Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3).

Trainer Brad Cox told DRF that John Velazquez will ride Further Ado in the Derby, and Luis Saez will ride Commandment. Tyler Gaffalione will ride Fulleffort, his agent, Matt Musikar, told Horse Racing Nation.

DRF also reported that Class President, Ottinho, Stark Contrast and Iron Honor are questionable to run for the roses on May 2.

Class President, who was scratched from the Blue Grass, is being evaluated, according to the report.

Chad Brown told DRF he will meet with owners to discuss options for Blue Grass runner-up Ottinho and Iron Honor, who was seventh last out in the Wood Memorial (G2).
