The popular Netflix show “Drive to Survive,” which tells the story of Formula One racing teams, could be getting a horse racing adaption, according to the Racing Post.

According to the report, executives from Netflix and Box to Box Films as well as Sky Sports Racing, met with trainers, owners and racing executives during the Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar. The prospective series would concentrate on the 2022 racing season both in Europe and the U.S.

The Formula 1 show is currently filming its fourth season. It has been credited with a spike in popularity for the sport, which has seen its TV audience skyrocket since 2018 when Drive To Survive was first released.

According to Racing Post, one major hurdle in creating a horse racing version of the show, is the lack of a singular body to regulate access for film crews.

The F1 show is reportedly one of the most-watched shows on Netflix, with nearly 10 percent of the platform’s UK subscribers viewing it in 2020.
