Hill Road will miss Saturday's Wood Memorial after spiking a fever, according to an X post by New York Racing Association TV analyst Andy Serling.

Trained by Chad Brown, Hill Road was third in the Tampa Bay Downs Derby (G3) in his only start this year. He also was third in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.

He has 24 points on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard, so he could have made the field with a first-, second- or possibly third-place finish in the Wood, which offers 100-50-25-15-10 points to the top five finishers.

Hill Road was 9-2 on the morning line for the Wood, with Joel Rosario slated to ride.

The Quality Road colt, a $350,000 purchase as a yearling, began his career on turf in Ireland, winning his August debut and then finishing seventh in a Group 1 stakes at Curragh for trainer Adrian Murray. He was moved to Brown's barn after the Breeders' Cup.
