Flightline's book of mares for 2022 includes the dams of American Pharoah and Essential Quality.
Thoroughbred Daily News highlighted 10 mares in the book at Lane's End Farm, where Flightline's stud fee has been set at $200,000. The now 5-year-old son of Tapit retired to the Central Kentucky farm after an 8 1/4-length victory in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, bringing his record to 6-for-6.
David Ingordo of Lane's End Bloodstock told TDN that the farm spent $4.5 million on 5 mares to support Flightline and that his book size is limited to 150.
The mares Ingordo highlighted include:
- Delightful Quality, sired by Elusive Quality and the dam of two-time Eclipse winner Essential Quality.
- Littleprincessemma, a daughter of Yankee Gentleman and the dam of 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.
- Obligatory, a maiden mare sired by Curlin whose graded-stakes wins include the 2022 Derby City Distaff (G1).
- Queen Caroline, sired by Blame and the dam of Kentucky Derby 2023 prospect Forte.
