Report: Disarm, 'jammed up' after Travers, is put on shelf
Disarm, runner-up in the Travers Stakes and fourth in the Kentucky Derby, is undergoing a veterinary evaluation and will not race again this year, Daily Racing Form reported Saturday.
The Winchell Thoroughbreds' homebred son of Gun Runner, who finished a game second behind Arcangelo in the 1 1/4-mile Travers in his most recent start, came out of the race "pretty jammed up" and has been sent to Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Ky., for evaluation, the publication quoted trainer Steve Asmussen as saying.

Asmussen indicated that the plan is to race Disarm again, but said the colt's down time will be dependent on what Dr. Larry Bramlage determines in his examination of the colt.
“We’ll see on his evaluation what he recommends from a time standpoint,” DRF quoted his Hall of Fame trainer as saying.
“It’s quite obvious how much of a future he has, but he has to be 100 percent. He’s good, he’s so close to being great.”
Through the Travers, Disarm has compiled a record of 9: 2-3-2, including a victory in the Matt Winn (G3) in June at Churchill Downs, and earnings of just over $1 million.
