Country Grammer will return to the care of trainer Bob Baffert next month, and his next start could be in the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap on July 30.

Daily Racing Form reported that the Pacific Classic (G1) could be a long-term goal for the 5-year-old son of Tonalist.

Country Grammer has been under the care of Sean McCarthy since Baffert began serving a three-month suspension in April.

Country Grammer's last race was a 3 3/4-length win over Hot Rod Charlie in the Dubai World Cup (G1) on March 26. DRF reported that he has returned to California after a rest in Kentucky, and he worked four furlongs Saturday in 49.6 seconds.

He also finished second in the Feb. 26 Saudi Cup (G1), coming off a nine-month layoff after winning the Hollywood Gold Cup (G1). His other graded-stakes win came in the Peter Pan (G3) in 2020.

His overall record is 10: 4-2-1, with earnings of $10,837,320.
