Breeders' Cup Mile winner More Than Looks has been retired to stud at Lane's End.

The owners of More Than Looks had originally planned to keep the son of More Than Ready in training at age 5. However, the Cherie DeVaux trainee came out of the Breeders' Cup Mile with a reinjury to a tendon in his right foreleg, according to a report by Nicole Russo of Daily Racing Form. The injury was the same one that delayed his 2024 debut until August. According to Russo he will stand stud at Lane's End Farm.

More Than Looks retires with a 11: 5-3-1 career record and $1,870,715 in earnings. As a 3-year-old he won the Manila Stakes at Belmont, his first graded win. He also won the Jefferson Cup at Churchill Downs, a race he used as a prep for the 2023 Breeders' Cup Mile. Though he finished sixth, he crossed the wire beaten only two lengths by Master of the Seas.

In three starts as a 4-year-old, More Than Looks showed top class every time. He finished second behind Carl Spackler in both the Fourstardave (G1) at Saratoga and the Keeneland Turf Mile (G1). He turned the tables on that foe in the Breeders' Cup, rallying for a three-quarter-length victory over Johannes while Carl Spackler checked in only sixth.
