Eclipse award finalist Arcangelo has recovered from surgery to treat a condylar fracture, according to Paulick Report.

The winner of last year's Belmont Stakes and Grade 1 Travers was scratched from the Breeders' Cup Classic after developing foot problems, which led to discovery of the fracture. Arcangelo stands at Lane's End Farm.

The surgery was performed by Dr. Larry Bramlage of Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital, according to the report.

Lane's End stallion manager Peter Sheehan told Paulick Report that the injury probably could have healed without surgery, but that Arcangelo will be better in the long run for having the procedure.

Sheehan said Arcangelo is expected to begin his first season at stud on time, with a fee of $35,000 for 2024.

Trained by Jena Antonucci, Arcangelo has a career record of 6: 4-1-0 and earnings of $1,754,900. He is a finalist for top 3-year-old male along with Auguste Rodin and Mage.
