Reggane set for Breeders' Cup after EP Taylor win

Reggane looks set for a crack at the Breeders' Cup after landing the EP Taylor Stakes in fine style under Christophe Soumillon in Toronto on Saturday.

The four-year-old daughter of Red Ransom stormed home to beat locally trained Miss Keller and her French compatriot Shalanaya in the Can $1 million contest.

Speaking at Longchamp on Sunday, trainer Alain de Royer-Dupre said: "I will now be thinking about a Breeders' Cup race for her and will also be looking at the Hong Kong Mile or Cup at Sha Tin in December."

Either the Mile or the Filly & Mare Turf - and a clash with either Goldikova or Midday - would appear the possible targets.

Royer-Dupre added: "I have had a few problems with the filly this year as she kept on coming into season but she is in great form at the moment.

"Don't forget she was runner up in the Coronation Stakes last year."
