A perfect 2-for-2 since trying turf in July, Chalk Racing's Ready for Rye is set to face a field of eight in the $100,000 Allied Forces Stakes for 3-year-olds going six furlongs on the turf on Sunday at Belmont Park.

Trained by Tom Albertrani, Ready for Rye made his first six career starts on the dirt, including a victory in the Grade 2 Swale on March 7 at Gulfstream Park. Following a pair of third-place finishes in the Grade 3 Bay Shore at Aqueduct Racetrack and Grade 2 Woody Stephens in June, the son of City Zip tried turf for the first time. Running in an optional claiming race at Belmont on July 4, he impressively went wire-to-wire to win by 2 ¾ lengths.

Most recently, in the Quick Call Stakes on August 6 at Saratoga Race Course, Ready for Rye showed a new dimension, coming from off the pace while traveling four-wide to win by 1 ½ lengths, besting fellow Allied Forces entrants Disco Partner and Cyclogenisis, who finished third and fourth respectively.
Drawing post position 8 as the 9-5 morning-line favorite, Ready for Rye will be ridden by Javier Castellano.

Facing winners for the first time will be Speightstown Time for trainer Barclay Tagg and owner Charles Fipke. A winner in his debut going 5 ½ furlongs at Saratoga on August 13 while picking up an 81 Beyer Speed Figure, the son of Speightstown will depart from 3 with Cornelio Velazquez and stands at 8-1 on the morning line.

Looking to rebound for trainer George Weaver and owner Matthew Schera is Cyclogenisis. A son of Stormy Atlantic, Cyclogenisis won his first three races including his 2015 debut in the Tom Ridge Stakes on May 15 at Presque Isle Downs. His connections then thought him worthy enough to race at the prestigious Royal Ascot meet in June, where he finished 14th of 18 in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup Stakes on June 15. Coming out of the Quick Call, where he finished fourth, Cyclogenesis will be ridden by Hall of Fame rider John Velazquez form post postion 6 as the 5-2 program choice.

Rounding out the field are Disco Partner for James Ryerson and owner Patricia Generazio, who has one win and one second-place finish from two career starts at Belmont;  Conquest Tsunami for trainer Mark Casse and Conquest Stables; Saratoga Dreamer for trainer Christophe Clement; Gallery for trainer Mike Dini; Big Family and First Down, who was entered for main track only.
