Lindy Redding’s well-traveled Ravalo, who became a millionaire this year at 7, added to his riches Nov. 23 with a hard-fought victory in the inaugural running of the $200,000 Six Bits Handicap at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
Trained by Donald Barr, the bay gelding by Mutakddim out of the Southern Halo mare Momentary Hope, held off late rallies from 6-5 favorite Immortal Eyes and close second favorite Ben's Cat to win the six-furlong sprint in 1:10.38. The victory was the gelding's 15th win out of 32 starts at the distance and his second stakes win of the year.
Ravalo, bred in Kentucky by Dr. Dede McGehee's Heaven Trees Farm, banked $120,000 and raised his lifetime winnings to $1,254,022.
