The $200,000, Grade 3 Parx Dash, originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been delayed until Aug. 31 because of heavy rain in Pennsylvania, pushing Tuesday’s Parx races off the turf, according to a press release from the track.

The five-furlong turf sprint drew a field of 10 horses and one also-eligible. The Critical Way had been placed as the morning line favorite at 6-5.

Tuesday’s card was to include two other turf races, both $85,000 starter handicaps. Those races, which will be off the turf, also drew full fields plus also-eligibles.

Parx will still host three stakes races on Tuesday, including the Smarty Jones (G3), which features Fulsome, trained by Brad Cox, as the 8-5 morning line favorite. The Cathryn Sophia and Parx Summer Sprint are also on the card.

Tuesday’s races are scheduled for a 12:55 p.m. EDT first post time.
