Longshot Raetodandty, owned and trained by Val Brinkerhoff and piloted by Joe Talamo, forged to the front in the final yards to win the featured $105,745 Green Flash Handicap in a $23 surprise Wednesday before 12,500 racing fans.

Always well-positioned in the five-furlong sprint over the infield Jimmy
Durante Turf Course, Raetodandty rallied gamely in the last sixteenth to overhaul Streakin’ Mohican and win by a neck in :55.64 for the distance.

Ventana, the 5-2 favorite, was a close-up third, a half-length behind the runner-up and 1 ¼ lengths in advance of Lt. Hopeful in the field of eight turf speedsters.

Raetodandty, a California-bred four-year-old son of Freespool, returned $23, $9.60 and $5.40 across the board while earning $69,567 with his fifth victory in a dozen career efforts. His earnings now total $226,878.

Streakin’ Mohican, with Rafael Bejarano up, returned $4.60 and $3, while Ventana, piloted by Patrick Valenzuela, paid $3 to show.

Although third in the feature on Ventana, Valenzuela had a successful day as he booted in three winners with his first three mounts of the afternoon, in the first, third and fourth races.

There was a single perfect ticket in the Pick Six and it was worth $97,218.80.
