'Rachel' has no excuse in Fleur de Lis

Among other things, a horse race is a test of speed and class. The Grade 2, $200,000 Fleur de Lis Handicap, the first of five graded stakes to be contested Saturday at Churchill Downs, is about those things, for sure.
It also is about something more. The race, not a strong betting contest due to its short five-horse field, will further test whether reigning Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra is back to her best or if the champion filly, now at age 4, is past her prime.
