It doesn't get any easier that that. Heavy favorite Rachel Alexandra tracked pacesetter Gabby's Golden Gal and took over without being asked en route to a blowout victory in Friday's Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs.
Calvin Borel was just a passenger in her 20 length tally. She completed the nine furlongs in 1:48.87 and returned $2.60. Hal Wiggins trains the talented filly.
Wayne Lukas was saying all week that Rachel was every bit as good as Winning Colors, and he capped off a generous $45.20 exacta with Stone Legacy.
Flying Spur rounded out the trifecta, and another Lukas runner (Be Fair) completed the super.
Justhwistledixie was withdrawn the afternoon of the race after a stall injury.
