Watch: Preakness contenders work on Saturday

It was a busy Saturday morning for many of the country's top three-year-olds. Art Collector, the likely second choice for next week's Preakness Stakes, worked a swift four-furlongs in :48.00 at Churchill Downs for trainer Thomas Drury. Bob Baffert's Thousand Words, who continues to show no ill effects following scratching from the Kentucky Derby after flipping in the paddock, worked five-furlongs in 1:00.60 in his final Preakness drill.

Chad Brown's Country Grammer, a late entrant to the Preakness picture, put forth a four-furlong drill in :50.20 at Belmont Park. Kenny McPeek's star filly Swiss Skydiver could take on the boys in the Preakness following a five-furlong drill in 1:00.80 at Churchill Downs.

“I thought he worked a lot better today with blinkers,” Geroux said. “Last week was his first work over the track so he didn’t wear them but went very easy. It was a bit more of a serious work today.”
